A: Staff Support Research:   The Public Works Department manages new and maintenance dredging for City waterways. The Director of Public Works is responsible for recommending, planning and managing dredging projects through the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) process . City Council approves the CIP containing such projects and allocates funding for them. The CIP is developed annually and forwarded to Council for approval.
